The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research is the research enterprise of Northwell Health and is headquartered in Manhasset, NY. The Feinstein Institute is composed of more than 1,500 clinicians, scientists and staff who work in laboratories and clinical research programs in collaboration with clinicians and patients throughout Northwell’s 23 hospitals. Every year, more than 15,000 patients and volunteers participate in over 2,000 research studies. The Feinstein Institute is a collaboration of creative thinkers who share a singular focus of advancing science to prevent disease and cure patients.

The Paul Foundation is proud to participate in the Advancing Women in Science and Medicine (AWSM) Awards program at the Feinstein Institute, initiated by Dr. Betty Diamond, in an effort to support the research endeavors of female scientists across Northwell Health by giving them increased opportunities to develop their careers through mentorship, education and collaboration. These women are driven to discover novel ways to treat, cure and prevent disease and their research has a direct impact on the care delivered across Northwell Health. AWSM continues to build on the community of mutual supporters and encouragement among female scientists while strengthening their innovative research. The Paul Foundation has funded research grants to women who are making real-time discoveries that are connecting patients to progress. We are proud to empower women who are dedicated to revolutionizing the way we deliver health care.

Through this program, The Paul Foundation has dedicated over $50,000 to the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research and the work of Dr. Barbara Sherry and Dr. Jacqueline Barrientos who are pioneers in the field of cancer research.
