The Paul Foundation honored by "the one hundred" and Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center

June 10, 2014

On June 10, 2014, Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center held its seventh annual dinner to honor 2014 “the one hundred” recipients at the Westin Boston Waterfront Ballroom. Paul’s mom, Ellen M. Walker and Paul’s stepfather, Paul Creditor attended the event. During the course of the evening The Paul Foundation was mentioned and photos of Paul were displayed in the entrance to the ballroom and thanks to streaming video Paul and the other honorees had their photos displayed in the ballroom while the program went on through the evening. Matt Damon and Valerie Harper were there to discuss their own experiences with Mass General.

The event was both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. We so miss Paul, and had so much hope that he would be a survivor.

Kudos to Mass General for selecting The Paul Foundation as an honoree and for a memorable evening.

There are so many who are doing great work to lessen the suffering of other cancer patients and survivors. It’s gratifying to know that Paul was right, as he always was, in asking his mom to start The Paul Foundation so that what happened to him would not happen to others. We will continue to honor Paul and educate, illuminate and empower young adults and health care professionals about lymphoma in this demographic. It is what Paul wanted.
